49ers offensive line director Todd Bowles was fired on Monday, the team announced.
Bowles, who had been with the 49ers since 2009, has been accused of sexual harassment, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
The 49ers said in a statement that they were “aware of the allegations” and are cooperating with the investigation.
In a statement to the Chronicle, Bowles said, “I deeply regret the way I treated some women and am deeply embarrassed by them.
I have apologized to the women I have offended.
I want to personally thank the women and organizations that I have worked with who have supported me over the years and the organizations I have supported over the past decade.
I am sorry.”
The 49er offensive line has struggled this season.
Bowens’ firing comes a month after the team fired offensive coordinator Greg Roman after a year on the job.
